Transport infrastructures and facilities

This section provides information and data about transport infrastructures and facilities in the TRACECA region. Focus is given to the actual parameters and capacities of the infrastructure, rather than on its usage.

Airport parameters

DATASET NAME:
TD_AIRPORTS_PARAMETERS.XLS

Description:
Information on important airport parameters such as number of runways, gates, desks, passenger and  cargo capacities, and type of airport. Airports for all TRACECA countries, plus Russia, are included. The following fields are available in the table (-99 = information not available):
IATA = official IATA airport code
ICAO = official ICAO code of the airport
OPERATION = Operational status (1 = airport under operation)
TYPE = Airport type:
           1 = International airport
           2 = Domestic airport
           3 = Military airport
INTERNATIONAL = International status of airport (0 = domestic airport; 1 = int. airport)
DIRECT_DESTINATIONS = Number of direct destinations that can be reached from airport
ELEVATION = Elevation above sea level (in meters)
RUNWAYS = Number of runways 
RUNWAY_LENGTHS = lengths of runways (in meters; several runways are separated by comma)
TERMINALS = Number of passenger terminals
GATES = Number of gates
CAP_PASS = Passenger capacity per year
CAP_CARGO = Cargo capacity per year (in tonnes)
TRAF_PASS = Passenger traffic for different years
TRAF_CARGO = Cargo movements for different years (in tonnes)
INTERNET = airport url
TRAF_MOV = Plane movements for different years
CARGO_TERMINALS = Number of cargo terminals
AIRCRAFT_STANDS = Number of aircraft stands (parking positions)
OPERATING_HOURS = Information about airport operating hours
CAP_WAREHOUSES = Warehouse capacity (in sqm)
DESKS = Number of desks for passenger handling
AOWT_HIERARCHY = Airport hierarchy according to AOWT classification:
                                 1 = large airport
                                 2 = Small scheduled passenger airport
                                 3 = Other airport
                                 4 = Airport not listed

Port parameters

DATASET NAME:
TD_PORTS_PARAMETER.XLS

Description:
The table provides basic information on seaports in the TRACECA region, including Iran and most important commercial ports of Greece. For Russia only the ports in the Black Sea region and Caspian Sea region are provided. The following fields are available (-9999 = data not available):
TRACECA_ID = Unique port identifier (to link table to GIS)
NAME = Port name
COUNTRY = 2-digit ISO country code
NODE_TYPE = Type of port:
                       4 = Seaport
                       14 = Inland port
                       17 = Seaport (Motorways of the Sea, according to EU TEN-T outline plans)
POINT_X = X-coordinate of port (in meters)
POINT_Y = y-coordinate of port (in meters)
CONTINENTS = Continent, on which port is located
                         1 = Asia
                          5 = Europe

Ferry connections

DATASET NAME:
TD_FERRY_LINKS.XLS

Description:
Information on ferry links of the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Turkish part of the Mediterranean Sea. The following fields are available:
ORIGIN = Name of origin port
ORIGIN_COUNTRY = 2-digit ISO country code of origin
DESTINATION = Name of destination port
DESTINAT_COUNTRY = 2-digit ISO country code of destination
SERVICE_FREQUENCY = Frequency of ferry services:
                                      1 = Several daily connections
                                      2 = One daily connection
                                      3 = Several connections per week
                                      4 = One connection per week
                                      5 = Less than one connection per week
                                      99 = Information not available
SAILING_DISTANCE = Distance (in km)
TIME = Travel time (in minutes)
